The Ladies First Team was formed from friends of Fulham Ladies who were invited by Dennis Lowndes to become Wimbledon FC Ladies in 1991, they were then asked to join AFC Wimbledon in 2004 after Wimbledon FC disbanded in 2002. When the Ladies were part of Wimbledon FC they played in the Premier Division of the Women’s National League. The team included England Ladies Captain Marieanne Spacey and six other England Internationals. It’s our hope and desire to get the Ladies First Team back up the Women’s football pyramid and to ensure the rest of the Ladies and Girls Section can achieve as much as is possible. We have an excellent Girls section, which caters for age groups from Under 11 to Under 18, then we have 2 Ladies sides (First Team & Reserves)
Club Philosophy
We want to give every Girl that joins AFC Wimbledon the chance to enjoy playing football to the best possible standard they can achieve and we hope they will progress to our Ladies 1st Team. We are a Community Club and strive to give Girls football at all levels.
